The Sarien Encounter is the first in the Space Quest Series. The game starts out with you, Roger Wilco (or whatever name you choose) who just happens to be a janitor taking an on-shift nap aboard the space ship Arcada. The ship is returning home when it is attacked by the viscous Sariens. The game consists of three basic sections. The first is escaping the Arcada. The second is surviving and leaving Kerona. The third and final section is entering the Sariens' Battle Cruiser called Deltaur and destroying the Star Generator.

In this game you control a single character (Roger Wilco). You move him throughout the different areas using the arrow keys. All actions you wish him to perform are typed (eg. Take rock or Look at rock). You will have to pick up many objects (all which you surprisingly manage to fit in you pockets) and talk to many different people (or creatures).

One of the great things about this game is that there are many ways to solve the puzzles. Each will result in a different score. So the first time you play it you might not get the full amount of points, which makes you want to play it again until you figure out all the solutions. This is a humor filled game that ended up being a great start for the Space Quest Saga. Download it now and see how it all began.
